The Silverbeaver Hausboot – A Small Houseboat

Today’s post features a small, luxurious house boat by Confused Direction. The Silverbeaver Hausboot is a sustainable floating home made from locally sourced materials, with a modern interior that’s bathed in natural light creating a comfortable home that blends in with the natural surroundings (the exterior of the home is clad with locally sourced Larch, allowing it to blend seamlessly with the environment).

Confused Direction was very conscientious when selecting materials, striving to create a home with a small carbon footprint. The Silverbeaver is also highly insulated, features super-insulated windows and is heated by a Bullerjan Oven to improve it’s efficiency as a sustainable dwelling.

Their are two terraces, providing a connection with the outdoors, re-emphasising the architects desire for the project to fit in with the natural surroundings.
