Sleep with the Fishes: An Under Water Retreat
Sweden is home to many a small dwelling, many of which are unusual and unique. This tiny getaway is no exception – the Utter Inn is located in the middle of a lake and is able to accommodate two people. It has a total floor space of 270 square feet and features a wrap-around deck for relaxing on and taking in the surrounding views.
If it gets too cold you can always head inside and relax in the sitting room, or climb down to the sleeping quarters, which are ten feet below the surface and offer panoramic views of the lake underwater. You can literally sleep with the fishes in this human fish bowl.
The Utter Inn was designed by a local artist and sculptor, Mikael Genberg. To reach the inn you will have to ride a kilometer on an inflatable boat to the middle of the lake, where you can be left in solitude or have your dinner brought to you by boat in the evening. The retreat can be rented for $165 a night.
